We’re striving to improve here at Luton and are at an exciting point in our journey. We’re looking for a Permanence Team Manager based within our Specialist Family Support Services, where you will lead and manage a team to achieve better outcomes for children, young people and their families through the delivery of high quality fostering services. Strategically developing the service to meet specific legislation, regulations, inspection requirements and other local targets.
This is a tremendously important role, as you will drive the permanency agenda for children in care across the council by managing and directing resources and budgets in order to provide services to support children and families with children in care.
You will be an experienced social worker who is able to negotiate and influence service users, staff at all levels, elected members and other professional both internal and external. Develop, manage, support and motivate a team consistently achieve high levels of performance.
You should have substantial knowledge of legislation and statutory responsibilities relating to Children and Family Services, including the Adoption and Children Act 2002, appropriate Quality standards, performance indicators and Tackling Delay in Adoption and early permanence agenda.
It is vital that you are able to manage a devolved budget and develop and maintain effective administrative and organisational procedures, lead and chair multi-disciplinary meetings.
We do ask that you have Dip SW, CQSW or recognised equivalent, substantial professional social work qualification and registered by the Social Work England.
Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken.
