Luton are looking for passionate, agile, dynamic, and creative and inspiring Community Learning Disability Nurse to join our Adult Services division.

Salary: £32,798 - £35,336 a year, plus £963 essential car user allowance (subject to criteria)and £3,500 market supplement

The Adult Social Care Service exists to help people achieve the outcomes that matter to them in their lives, promoting their wellbeing and independence through both statutory and non-statutory interventions and preventing, reducing or delaying their need for Care and Support.
We have a highly rewarding opportunity within the Community Learning Disabilities Team where you will be promoting the independence, inclusion and well-being of all adults with a learning disability enabling them to have control over their lives and ensure we comply with the Luton Council and Safeguarding Adults Boards policies and procedures.
The multi disciplinary team consists of Community Learning Disability Nurses, Social Workers, Social Care Assessors and Enablement Coordinators, our range of involvement includes care management, transitions, safeguarding and mental health as well as enabling people to gain independent skills and meaningful employment. We are currently undertaking a number of exciting strengths based approach projects including personal technology, connecting people and asset based community development.
You will be responsible for managing a challenging caseload while operating at all times in line with the Nursing & Midwiferies Council’s codes of conduct.
Your post qualifying experience and communication skills will enable you to achieve high standards of professional service while providing professional advise and guidance to all staff and members of the public. This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
Our ideal candidate should have knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and guidance, in particular the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2004, the principles underpinning social care practice and how relevant legislation and guidance is applied in practice
