Salary: £22,035 - £24,422 a year
Hours per week: 37, Term time plus 5 days
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and confident person to join our family support and pastoral team who is able to support and work with our families, aiming to improve children’s wellbeing and achievements in school. Child Protection is a shared role with the Headteacher.
The successful applicant will:
•Be able to work as part of an integrated team to ensure improved outcomes for children including improved attendance and engagement in learning;
•Have good knowledge of and commitment to good practice in Safeguarding;
•Have experience of working with external agencies with regards to safeguarding concerns and to ensure all pupils have full access to education opportunities and are able to overcome barriers to learning and participation;
•Have the professional skills and knowledge to develop effective relationships with parents, families, children and other partners;
•Be able to assist in the development and delivery of educational support packages with children and their families in school and in the family home and in other settings as required by the role;
•Be able to work with families in challenging circumstances;
•Have first class communication skills to be able to work with key professionals including the Educational Welfare Officer and Social Services;
•Have the ability to work within agreed guidelines and policies but also under own initiative;
•Have an understanding of the EHA process;
•Be able to represent the school, its families and pupils at various professional meetings ensuring all paperwork is current and correct including those relating to safeguarding procedures;
•Excellent pastoral skills with adults and children;
•Ability to communicate and engage with groups of adults and children;
•Confident IT skills;
•Strong organisational and time management ;
•Ideally have daily use of a car.
