Our Children Services department are looking for a Fostering Assessing Social Worker to work on a full range of social work duties in relation to statutory Family Placement work in accordance with the National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services and Fostering Service Regulations.
This is an exciting role where you will be promoting the best interests for children and young people at all times.
Our ideal candidate will need to have substantial post qualifying experience in fostering and be able to perform statutory duties under the Children Act 1989, Fostering Minimum Standards and Care Planning and Fostering Regulations 2015.
We need someone who has the ability to make professional judgements in a multi-disciplinary setting including negotiating resources.
You’ll need to be an effective communicator and able to work with a range of different service users and be able to lead and chair multi-disciplinary meetings and represent the agency in a formal setting or similar.
You will need to be able to influence service delivery by identifying gaps in service and be able to maintain high quality records, write clear concise reports and correspondence when dealing with complex issues.
You will have the opportunity to develop on your already existing knowledge of legislation and statutory responsibilities relating to Children and Family Services including appropriate Quality Standards. You will also need to have in-depth knowledge and understanding of child development and issues of family dynamics as well as understanding service eligibility criteria concerning need and of risk of significant harm.
We do ask that you have Dip SW, CQSW or a recognised equivalent professional qualification.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
