We have exciting opportunities available within the Catering Services Team where you will be using your professional catering skills to support the Kitchen Manager in the overall operation of the kitchen and staff. This will be in accordance with and to the standard required by LBC Catering Services policies and procedures.
You will also be required to meet the requirements of the school food plan, health and safety, food hygiene legislation and best practice in accordance with the SLA/ contract with the school.
We have General Kitchen Assistant posts covering Central Bedfordshire and Luton Schools.
The current available locations are Stotfold, Milton Keynes, Linslade, Shillington and Clophill.
To be successful in this role you must have the ability to understand and follow instructions, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and be able to work co-operatively to meet service demands.
You'll have the opportunity to develop on your already existing knowledge of high standards of kitchen hygiene.
It is essential you are able to perform physical tasks on a frequent basis such as lifting catering equipment up to 20kg.
You will also be required to adjust working hours to meet service demands, travel to all schools operated by LBC Catering Services and be able to converse with ease with members of the public in accurate and fluent spoken English.
Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken.
