About the job
High Intensity User Link Worker
Full time, 37 hrs per week (occasional evenings and weekends)
Starting salary £25,800 per annum plus essential car user allowance (£963 per annum
Please see attached for further information
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience of working with people with complex needs as well as working within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work with a rolling cohort of patients who attend A&E or have been admitted to hospital more than might be expected. We are looking for an individual whose ability to connect with strangers is strong enough to be able to change the behaviours of people with even the most complex needs.
Skills required will be empathy, compassion, strong negotiation, patience and a real appetite for helping those that many others may have either forgotten about or have turned away. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives by putting in place interventions that reintegrate people into the local community without the need to make demands on services that may not be the most appropriate to meet their needs.
The successful candidate will work a 37 hour week, however some flexibility will be required as there may be some out of hour’s calls for service. Due to the requirement of the posts candidates must work full time (though job shares are also invited) and be committed to remaining with the project. The work will involve some face to face contact with the top cohort but predominantly will involve telephone contact and liaison with other service providers.
The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS disclosure for this position.
If this is a challenge you are looking for then you would be most welcome to apply.
For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Emma Stevens, Interim Director of Health and Wellbeing on 01582 400272 or via email Emma.Stevens@activeluton.co.uk
