Do you have a passion for helping and caring for others and an awareness of the needs of people within adult social care? If yes, then this is the job for you.


We have two rewarding opportunities where you will help provide a person-centred care support and responsive service 24 hours a day to people with support needs to enable them to live as independently as possible within the community.


Your duties will include visiting people within their own homes to deliver in-house extra care service, working across three sheltered housing schemes in Luton, providing personal care and where applicable create a homely atmosphere to encourage independent living.


It is essential that you respect people’s right to privacy and ensure that their dignity is maintained at all times.


Roster to be agreed with the individual once successful.

About you

This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.


Our ideal candidate must have the ability to develop positive relationships with customers, family/carers, other colleagues and health and social care professionals.


You should be educated to QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent standard, or ability to obtain within 12 months following appointment; and be able to work flexibly including changing rotas, regular weekends, evenings (you will be required to be available to work after 7pm) and bank holidays.

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. This post will be exempt from the provisions of Section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) (Amendments) Order 1986.


Therefore, applicants are not entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are ‘spent’ under the provision of the Act, and, in the event of the employment being taken up; any failure to disclose such convictions will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority. The fact that a pending charge, conviction, bind-over or caution has been recorded against you will not necessarily debar you from consideration for this appointment.
