We have an exciting opportunity within the Housing Asset Management Team where you will carry out, under the leadership of the Building Services Manager, all aspects of mechanical and Water hygiene & legionella safety Services, cyclical maintenance and installation programmes for BTS/Luton Council.
The nature of the work covers new build, refurbishments, residential flats and houses, sheltered housing and fixed assets, high rises, medium rises and low rise blocks ensuring that designs and work are fit for purposes, including co-ordinating, monitoring and supervising the professional Services as well as standards delivered by internal engineers and external consultants, ensuring that safety compliance, technical and financial criteria are met.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of heating systems and mechanical services and gas safety management, and relevant regulatory and legislative requirements including Health & Safety, Gas Safety Regulations 1998 and the control of Legionella bacteria in water systems.
Excellent communication skills are vital for this role, as you will be required to consult, persuade and negotiate with a wide range of people, especially contractors. You must have recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering accordingly, Water Hygiene & Legionella Safety equivalent qualification or experience; NVQ Level 3 Heating & Plumbing or equivalent qualification and ACS certified engineer CCN1, MET1, TPCP1A, CPA1, HTR1 & CMDDA1, CENWAT, CKR1.
