Active Luton is a charitable trust offering health, leisure, wellbeing, community outreach, training and education services to all sectors of Luton’s diverse population.  We’re much more than just sport!

We operate six health and leisure centres across the town including Inspire: Luton Sports Village with its 50m swimming pool and Olympic diving facilities, Lea Manor Recreation Centre, Lewsey Sports Park and Pool, Stockwood Park Athletics Centre, Stockwood Park Golf Centre and Hightown Community Sports and Arts Centre.  We also operate Dell Farm Education Centre – a unique day and residential education centre offering inspirational outdoor learning experiences for school children, set in 23 acres of land near Whipsnade Zoo.

About the job

Active Luton are looking a Qualified Level 1 Assistant Swim Teachers at Lea Manor Recreation Centre. 

Tuesday 4.00 pm - 5.30 pm

Thursday 4.00 pm - 5.30 pm

Sunday 9.00 am - 11.30 am 

You will be required to assist Swimming Teachers with the preparation and delivery of swimming classes to the required standard.

Your duties will include:

 - Assisting with the development of swimming skills through lessons, award schemes and swim clubs in the local area. 

- Assist the swim teacher through continuous assessment, that may involve providing or taking part in swimming.

- Undertake administrative tasks associated with the post.


5.5 hours per week 

£9.49 per hour plus 25% admin allowance 

The successful applicant will be subject to DBS clearance.

About you

You will have experience of working within a leisure environment, being able to organise your own workload and work within established procedures and guidelines and quality standards. 

You will need to be able to communicate, speak effectively, politely and tactfully to individuals and groups of children and adults.

 You will have knowledge of the ASA Standards & Health & Safety in relation to Centre needs
