This is an exiting opportunity to build on the strengths identified by OFSTED following the recent Focused Visit in relation to Luton’s Independent Reviewing Officers.


We wish to recruit an excellent Team Manager who will lead and manage the conference and review service, which sits within the Quality and Assurance & Safeguarding Service. You will assist with the resourcing and budgets in order to monitor, review, and drive good practice standards and outcomes for children who are the subject of a child protection plan or who are looked after, in accordance with the statutory powers and duties of the Local Authority


In this pivotal role, you will manage and maintain the full operational responsibilities for the team supporting the delivery of good or outstanding services across the areas of child in need, child protection conferencing and looked after reviews. You will provide advice and guidance to social work staff and managers on the application of thresholds, statutory requirements and quality standards, and to other professionals as required, and you will prove be influential & impactful across the whole system of service delivery.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for children and young people who possesses substantial, in depth experience of complex multi-agency child protection and statutory case work with looked after children including the management of risk and permanency planning


You will also need to have the evidenced ability to manage, motivate and develop colleagues effectively achieving high levels of performance from all


You must be educated to Degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW, or recognised equivalent professional social work qualification and Registered as a qualified social worker by the Health Care Professionals Councils.
