Are you passionate about working with children and adults to improve their skills and abilities and an experienced confident on-road cyclist with a roadworthy cycle to use for training? If yes we want to hear from you.
We have an exciting role within the Cycle Training team, where you will assist in the delivery of Bikeability cycle training to children and adults, including some with additional special needs, to gain the confidence to ride on-road within the Borough of Luton.
In this vital role, you’ll assist the Cycle Promotions Officer with the annual programme of cycle training delivery to the Borough; and help contribute towards creating a positive and enthusiastic environment to promote and encourage active travel as part of everyday life.
You’ll have a willingness to complete the appropriate nationally accredited cycle training and First Aid training. Cycle around the Borough is also essential for the purpose of training on a daily basis. To be a fully qualified National Standards Cycle Instructor you have to be 18 or over.
So if you have the ability to ride a bike, organise and run activity sessions and knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, then we look forward to receiving your application.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
Luton Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Applicants must be willing to undergo child and/or vulnerable adults protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
