Social Worker - Prevention and Community Connections

Job Introduction

Salary: £40,444 - £43,149 a year pro rata plus £5,000 market supplement allowance and £963 essential car user allowance (subject to criteria) a year pro rata 
Hours: 37 hours a week
Contract type: Fixed Term for 1 year

This role is available for 1 year. Internal candidates who are permanent employees of Luton Council will be appointed on a secondment basis, while external candidates and other eligible applicants will be appointed on a fixed-term contract for 1 year.

In this varied role, you'll work with adults, families and partner organisations to deliver high-quality, person-centred support while helping shape the future of Adult Social Care.

You'll have the opportunity to:

Complete complex assessments, support planning and safeguarding work.Empower people to maximise their independence through strengths-based practice.Work closely with health professionals, community partners and other agencies.Support and mentor Social Care Assessors and contribute to developing best practice.Chair multi-agency meetings and contribute to service improvements.Help deliver innovative, personalised services that put people at the heart of everything we do.

What we’re looking for

Is a qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.Has post-qualification experience working in Adult Social Care or a related setting.Can confidently manage complex cases, balancing risk with positive outcomes.Is passionate about person-centred, strengths-based practice.Enjoys coaching and supporting colleagues to develop their skills.Builds positive relationships with people, families and partner organisations.Communicates confidently and makes sound professional judgements.

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken.
