  • We are leading the way in a new working model of enforcement and regulatory services. Our service holds the range of legal powers available to the Council as well as some additional powers given to us by Bedfordshire Police. We oversee, investigate, case manage and take enforcement actions on a range of issues including environmental crime, anti-social behaviour, licensing, trading standards, food hygiene, health and safety, parking, abandoned vehicles and more.

  • We have a range of roles within Neighbourhood Delivery which offer opportunities for development. 

    Neighbourhood Enforcement roles focus on visible patrols around the Town - delivering our capable of resolving now model of work which enables issues to be identified and resolved quickly. Officers gain accreditation from Bedfordshire Police to utilise some police powers and work independently across the Town to deliver positive outcomes to priority issues in a placed based model.

    Investigations Hub roles carry out high quality investigations into a range of offences and regulatory matters including environmental crimes, business regulation, statutory nuisances, unauthorised activity and anti-social behaviour and to take subsequent enforcement proceedings. Investigators problem solve and look for creative and innovative solutions to secure compliance and behaviour change.

    There are senior or team leader roles within each team, which gives an opportunity for career progression.
