Enterprise Zone Status:
London Luton Airport is one of only 24 areas across England to have secured Enterprise Zone status. This significant development opportunity is being delivered by Luton Borough Council in partnership with London Luton Airport Limited, and comprises three sites surrounding or connected to London Luton Airport: New Century Park, Airport Business Park and Bartlett Square. Enterprise Zones provide a range of benefits to businesses. The two-hour drive catchment area of the site is 23 million people, exceeding that of London Heathrow.
Luton Investment Framework :
The Luton Investment Framework is an ambitious and visionary 20-year programme, spearheaded by Luton Borough Council, aimed at creating 18,500 new jobs in Luton and transforming the town’s future. LLAL is proud to be involved in such an exciting venture, and will work alongside Luton Borough Council and other partners to deliver the framework’s objectives.
LLAL is delighted to have recently announced its London Luton Airport Vision for Sustainable Growth 2020-50. Please visit the vision 2050 page for more details.
Luton offers a wide and expanding range of destinations for both the leisure and business traveller, through a number of airline operators including easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair and Tui.
It is also the UK’s leading airport for business aviation.
Proposals also include the construction of a new access road.
LLAL is planning to build a new Direct Air to Rail Transit system (Luton DART) to service London Luton Airport.
The DART is being developed to encourage passengers to travel to and from the airport via a more sustainable and efficient means of transport.
The DART will be a fully automated and driverless system, approximately 2.1km in length, and will transport passengers between Luton Airport Parkway station and the terminal.
Planning permission has been received from Luton Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council. The DART system is scheduled to become operational by 2021.
