  • Dear Candidate,

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of our leadership team here in Luton. This is a challenging but exciting time for us and a chance to drive development and make a real difference for our future.

As a council we have everything we need to ensure our residents flourish, although housing supply remains an ongoing challenge within our diverse communities.

To help tackle this we have defined a bold agenda “Luton A place to Thrive 2020 to 2040” that will ensure that no-one lives in poverty by 2040.

We’re looking for a highly experienced leader to provide strategic direction and continually boost performance in a range of housing services, including Building & Technical Services, Housing Needs, Housing Operations and Housing Development.

Resident engagement is vital to our future and you must therefore possess a strong ability to connect, enthuse and collaborate with our diverse communities, as well as key housing partners and your talented workforce.

With a proven track record of leading change within a housing context, you will address the prime challenges across the borough including reducing temporary accommodation levels and rough sleeping, driving forward plans for new build homes, and ensuring our housing stock is safe and of the highest possible quality for our residents. You will also optimise housing opportunities in line with our mission to build 400 new units over the next few years.

Ready to realise the remarkable? If you have the vision, enthusiasm and experience to make a lasting difference to Luton and its’ people, we want to hear from you.

    Yours sincerely,

    Laura Church
