Enabling Luton to be proud, vibrant, ambitious and innovative.

Service Director- Operations, Statutory Social Work Services and Early Help & Prevention

Salary: Up to £88,794 a year

Luton is bursting with potential. As champions of fresh thinking and with a talented workforce, we listen to our diverse communities and work hard to ensure our town remains a vibrant, ambitious and prosperous place for all. Putting children, young people and their families is at the heart of everything we do.

As a Council, we have everything we need to ensure our communities flourish, although 40% of our residents are currently affected by poverty and we want this to change. To address this, we have devised a bold agenda to eradicate poverty by 2040, which is now our Council’s number one ambition.

We have recently had a challenging Ofsted inspection that highlights some significant issues that we are now working hard to address. We seek an experienced Service Director with incredible drive to lead service-wide transformation in our Statutory Social Work and Early Help & Prevention Service, leading us through a successful improvement journey during the next 12 months and beyond.

This is a golden opportunity to showcase just what you can do in this demanding yet hugely rewarding role. If you have the experience, track record, energy and commitment to join us and want to build on our many strengths to lead important improvements within our core practice, we want to hear from you.
